Grade One Population
School District # 35 (Langley) maintains a strong Reading Recovery implementation. District-led initiatives encourage schools to provide adequate coverage based on their Grade 1 populations. This is the first year in the school district’s history that all 29 elementary schools offered Reading Recovery intervention. A few schools have more than one Reading Recovery teacher. Since January 1997, 74 teachers have been trained and approximately 3,010 children have received extra literacy instruction through Reading Recovery.
